Stitch & Print International 2011 Number 4

In this edition

Dear readers,
This final issue is already the last issue for this year. If you visit embroidery or printing companies these days, you will see that most of the companies own a transfer press. Transfers have become a good additional service to offer as they suit the requirements set by the increasing demand for full-colour prints, limited runs and personalisation. In an interview with Bart de Jong from TheMagicTouch Benelux you can read about how the WoW7.2 transfer system makes it possible to print any kind of design on a garment of any colour with both the image quality of a colour laser printer and the durability of a screenprint. The use of any cutting plotter is no longer required in this process.

ZSK Stickmaschinen GmbH has gone through a lot of positive changes over recent years. The company now produces many of the parts of the embroidery machines themselves, which ensures the fast supply of high-quality products to their agents. By the end of this year they will introduce a web shop for accessories.
As all embroiderers will know, embroidery has become a tough, competitive business. As it is hard working without a lot of profit, you need to find a way to make your embroidery business more profitable. In his article Robert Harbauer recommends offering not only traditional embroidery but also offering to your customers new decoration methods such as laser-etching, laser appliqué, embossing or rhinestone/strass.

ITMA 2011 once again turned out to be an important international fair. During the show many companies introduced new machines. An interesting showpiece was to be seen at Lässer: the MD Mini Large embroidery machine combines embroidery with paintbrush. Read more about this in the show report.
