FESPA announces Awards winners

The winners of FESPA’s 2017 Awards were revealed at its annual Gala Dinner, half way through the convention, on May 10th, at the Grand Elysée Hotel in Hamburg.

From around the globe

The winners of the application categories came from around the globe. Three of the eleven awards went to Atelier für Siebdruck in Switzerland. They were for the categories Posters; Original Serigraphies and Giclees and Fine Art reproductions, books, brochures; and Special Effect printing.

For the categories Point of Purchase Products – Paper & Board; Decals, Printed Labels, Fleet Marking and Window decals; Glass, Ceramic, Metal and Wood Products; and Non Printed Signage all four winners were from the UK. The awards went respectively to Augustus Martin; Signbox Limited; Digital Plus Ltd; and HNS Signs. The remaining awards were given to MIDI-PRINT LLC, Russia, for Special Effect T-Shirt and Garment Printing, T-shirts and Other Garments; to the Look Company, Qatar, for Roll-to-Roll Printed Textile; to P&P Promotion SRL, Italy for Direct Printing on Three Dimensional Products; and to Classic Stripes PVT. LTD, India for Functional Printing.

Three more awards

Also announced at the Gala Dinner were the winners of the three following categories for 2017. The Young Star Award, which is marked across all categories and open to those aged between 15-25, went to Sandra Zomer from the Netherlands. She received for her entry, illusive mind, a cheque for €1,000.

The People’s Choice of the Year Award was voted for online by FESPA’s global print community from the shortlisted entries. This year’s winner was OMUS PTY LTD of Australia for its Louis Vuitton pop-up store entry in the Non-Printed Signage category. Atelier für Siebdruck was again recognized, but this time People’s Choice- Omus, Australia, with the Best in Show Award. The judges decided that its entry in the Special Effects Category, entitled Le Monde des effets, People’s Choice- Omus, Australia was the most outstanding example of print.
